Beliza is a Brazilian mpb and bossa nova act based in Sydney NSW.

Beliza is a Sydney-based Brazilian band built for the dancefloor, blending MPB, samba, bossa nova, samba-rock, funk and groove into a big, energetic live sound. Performing in configurations of up to nine musicians, including a three-piece horn section, the group gives Brazilian classics a fresh edge while keeping the rhythms and musical roots firmly front and centre.

Their repertoire travels through some serious Brazilian royalty, with songs and influences from Djavan, João Bosco, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Jorge Ben, Tim Maia, Chico Buarque and Baden Powell. Expect soaring vocals, cavaquinho and guitars, heavy percussion, brass and plenty of groove: the kind of set that can move from smooth MPB and bossa into full samba-funk without giving the crowd much chance to stay seated.
